Valley Ridge Media was built on a simple belief: great content starts with connection.

Originally from the prairies, we both come from entrepreneurial families where hard work, honesty, and community mattered more than anything. After graduating from university, we set out to travel — chasing light, culture, and creativity, always with a camera in hand. Those early years of photography were driven by passion, not pay. But when we settled in Nelson nearly a decade ago, we knew it was time to turn our love for media into something more.

At first, it was small — helping friends, picking up the odd shoot. But bit by bit, our reputation grew. People appreciated our fast turnarounds, easygoing nature, and the way we made them feel in front of a camera. As we worked with more local businesses, events, and real estate professionals, it became clear: this wasn’t just a side gig anymore. It was the start of something real.

Today, Valley Ridge Media works with clients across Nelson, Kaslo, Trail, Castlegar, and the wider West Kootenay region — from real estate agents and event organizers to restaurants, tourism boards, and artisan brands. We believe in collaboration, creativity, and building trust. Our goal is to make people feel seen, confident, and proud of what we create together.
